The obverse of the coin is divided into four sectors by lines forming a cross — a sacred symbol that represents the unity of existence, combining heaven and earth. Each sector represents the pysanka art of Polissia and contains ornaments characteristic of this region: Rivne region (bottom left): waves, net, and rake-like patterns; Volyn (top left): a fragment of a star, dots, rake-like patterns, sun, and waves; Zhytomyr region (top right): rake-like patterns and sun; Kyiv region (bottom right): spirals and net.
Each ornamental element has a deep symbolic meaning: the sun and star embody light, life-giving energy, development, and prosperity; waves symbolize water, longevity, and fertility; spirals are a sign of infinity, protection from evil spirits, and the eternal flow of life; the net represents the connection between worlds; rake-like patterns are an archaic symbol of rain; dots represent зерно (grain), symbolizing the birth of new life and continuation of the lineage.
In the upper right part of the composition, the following are inscribed: the word "UKRAINE", the year of minting — 2026, the Small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, the denomination 10, and the hryvnia symbol. At the bottom right is the logo of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as the metal designation and its fineness — Ag 999, and the fine weight — 31.1.
The reverse of the coin features a pysanka with a traditional ornament of the Chernihiv region (Polissia) — the ruzha (star). It symbolizes the sun, fire, and light, embodying life, well-being, energy, and the spring awakening of nature. The symbolism of the reverse motif is complemented by colors: red — a symbol of strength, health, and energy, traditionally considered a powerful talisman; black — a symbol of the earth, fertility, ancestral memory, and protection.
The commemorative coin is dedicated to pysanka art — an ancient Ukrainian tradition of decorative painting that reflects the richness of ornamental motifs and the unique color palette of each region of Ukraine. The composition of the coin reproduces the characteristic traditions of one of the oldest ethnographic regions — Polissia.
