On the obverse there are: the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine (above), the semicircular legend: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), the coin face value and issue year 10/ГРИВЕНЬ/2009 (10 hryvnias) below, and in the centre - a dance scene against the dark background with conventionalized picture of light beams.
On the reverse there is depicted the theatre building fa?ade together with silhouettes of operetta characters copied from old theatre bills (over the building) and the inscriptions КИЇВСЬКИЙ АКАДЕМІЧНИЙ ТЕАТР ОПЕРЕТИ (Kyiv academic theatre of operetta) (above, semicircular) and 75/РОКІВ (75/years) underneath.
