Coin «Mud shrimp (Upogebia pusilla)» 5 UAH, 2026, nickel silver

The obverse of the coin dedicated to the Sea of Azov features, in the centre of the design, a stylized outline of the Sea of Azov with the adjacent territory of Ukraine, rendered as relief horizontal lines that imitate sea waves. At the top right is the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine; beneath it the year of minting, 2026, is placed horizontally and the inscription УКРАЇНА (UKRAINE) vertically. At the bottom of the coin is the face value 5 with the hryvnia sign ₴. In the lower part of the design the inscriptions АЗОВСЬКЕ МОРЕ and THE SEA OF AZOV run in a semicircle, with the logo of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine between them.

The reverse of the coin depicts two mud shrimps in grey and olive green (decorative element – colour printing) among eelgrass (Zostera, a seagrass), the optimal habitat for this species. The inscription UPOGEBIA PUSILLA runs in a semicircle at the top, and МОРСЬКИЙ КРІТ (MUD SHRIMP) at the bottom.
