On the obverse of the coin, bordered by a primitivism style vegetative ornament, there are the inscriptions: УКРАЇНА / 5 / ГРИВЕНЬ (Ukraine, 5 hryvnias); above – the Small National Emblem of Ukraine with the inscription over it: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), below – the year of the coin issue – 2007, the indication of metal and its fineness – Ag 925, weight in fineness – 15.55 and the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

On the reverse of the coin there is a lubok-print-like depiction of a pig surrounded by conventionalized vegetative ornaments. Above and below this composition there are small silhouettes of all 12 animal symbols of the Chinese calendar
