On the obverse there are: above - the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription Національний банк України (National Bank of Ukraine), below - the coin face value 2/ГРИВНІ (2/hryvnias) and the National Bank of Ukraine Mint logo, to the left - the coin issue year 2010; in the centre there is depicted searchlighted La-7 aircraft (side number 27), which was piloted by I.M.Kozhedub.
On the reverse there is Ivan Kozhedub`s portrait against the background of a conventionalized airfield with an aircraft thereon; under the aircraft there is the inscription ІВАН/КОЖЕДУБ/1920/1991 (Ivan/Kozhedub).
The commemorative coin `Ivan Kozedub` with the face value of 2 hryvnias is dedicated to Ivan Mykytovych Kozhedub, a famous son of Ukrainian people, fighter ace, Hero of the Soviet Union on three occasions, Marshal of Aviation.
