Coin «Kyiv Psalmbook» 100 UAH, 1998, gold (Au 900)

On the coin obverse the Small State Emblem of Ukraine is depicted over an open ancient book. Above, along the circumference, there is a stylized inscription УКРАЇНА; underneath, there is a two line inscription 100 ГРИВЕНЬ. At the left and at the right there is a legend: 1997, coin issue year, Au 900, metal and its standard and 15,55 g, gold pure weight.

On the coin reverse against a background of a three column arcade, the following is depicted: Jesus Christ within a circumference with abbreviations - IC - XC, the biblical King David, the Kyivan scribe Spyrydoniy - protodeacon, and a fragment of a Church Slavonic text. Above, along the circumference there is the stylized inscription: КИЇВСЬКИЙ ПСАЛТИР, beneath - the date: 1397.
