Coin On the Way to the Independence: Ukrainian-Swedish Politico-Military Alliances of the XVIIth – XVIIIt 10 UAH, market price 17.03.2026

On the coin obverse there are: the semicircular inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) and the Small National Emblem of Ukraine above, the legend (denomination and the year of the coin issue) – 10/ГРИВЕНЬ/2008 (10/hryvnias/2008) and the conventionalized image of scrolls with seals as a symbol of Ukrainian-Swedish politico-military alliances beneath.

On the coin reverse there are, against the background of flags, the portraits of the most significant persons of the relevant historical period – the Hetmans Bohdan Khmelnytskyi and Ivan Mazepa, the Kings Charles XII and Charles X Gustav (from left to right).

The commemorative coin “On the Way to the Independence: Ukrainian-Swedish Politico-Military Alliances of the XVIIth – XVIIIth Centuries” is issued to commemorate the conclusion of Ukrainian-Swedish alliances, namely the Treaty of Korsun in 1657, Velyki Budyscha Pact of 1709 as well as the 300th anniversary of the events relative to the political and military actions of the Hetman Ivan Mazepa. These international treaties were intended to obtain the Ukrainian state independence
