Coin Nikolai Gogol 5 UAH, market price 18.03.2026

On the coin obverse above there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine with the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), below there are the coin face value and issue year - 5 ГРИВЕНЬ/2009 (5 hryvnias/2009) as well as the composition symbolizing two main subjects of Gogol`s creative work: that of Ukraine with its history, traditions, myths and the topic of the imperial capital city with its high life, etc.

On the coin reverse there is a portrait of Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol dressed in a cape and a vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt) embodying the land that had educated him. Above there is the semicircular inscription МИКОЛА ГОГОЛЬ (Nikolai Gogol in Ukrainian) and below 1809/1852 – years of his life.
