Obverse: above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the inscription НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК/УКРАЇНИ (National Bank/of Ukraine) thereunder; in the center, within a conventionalized vegetable ornamentation pattern, there is the coin face value 5/ГРИВЕНЬ (5/hryvnias); below there is the year indication 2016, as well as the indications of the metal and its fineness Ag 925, coin weight in fineness 15.55 g and the mark of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Reverse: within a conventionalized vegetable ornamentation pattern there is depicted in a technique of a cheap popular print a monkey (the monkey`s eyes are decorated with yellow cubic zirconium oxide). Both above and below this composition there is a depiction of contour figures of all 12 symbols of the Chinese calendar.
