On the coin obverse above there is depicted the small National Emblem of Ukraine, beneath - there is the inscription: Національний Ьанк України (National Bank of Ukraine) and there are depicted tooling of a sculptor, artist and graphic artist against the background of a conventionalized palette. Below there are inscriptions: 2 гривні / 2006 (2 Hryvnia/2006) and the Mint logotype of the National Emblem of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse there is depicted a portrait of Mykhailo Lysenko, against whose background there are his years of life: 1906 – 1972; above there is a semicircular inscription: Михайло Лисенко (Mykhailo Lysenko).
