Coin Olexander Dovzhenko 2 UAH, market price 22.02.2026

On the coin obverse a boy is depicted standing in a boat with a candle in his hand and floating along the river of time to meet his destiny; on the left of the composition there is 2004, the coin issue year, under which there is small National Emblem of Ukraine and the coin face value- 2 ГРИВНІ, (2 hryvnia), on the right there is a semicircular inscription: УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) and the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine.

On the coin reverse there is a portrait of Olexander Dovzhenko , as well as the inscriptions: on the right: 1894-1956, his years of life; to the left in a semi-circle: ОЛЕКСАНДР ДОВЖЕНКО (Olexander Dovzhenko)

The coin is dedicated to the 110th birth anniversary of Olexander Dovzhenko (1894 - 1956), the founder of the Ukrainian national school of cinematography, a writer and artist who was born in a town of Sosnytsia of Chernihiv region. Dovzhenko was a screen poet and philosopher, a brilliant film-director, whose feature film `Earth` is included to the 12 world best feature films.
