On the coin obverse, in its upper part there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine under which there is an inscription УКРАЇНА (Ukraine); between two fragments of a conventionalized vegetable- and flower-ornament there are the three line inscription: 2, ГРИВНІ, 2001 (2 /hryvnia/2001), and the Mint logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine

On the coin reverse in the centre there is depicted an open book with the three line inscription: 5 РОКІВ КОНСТИТУЦІЇ (5 Years of the Constitution) within the frame of a vegetable composition of wheatears and cranberry sprays; above it there is the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; beneath - 28 / ЧЕРВНЯ / 1996 (28/June/ 1996), the date of adoption of the Constitution
