Coin Breakthrough of the German Defensive Line Wotan by the Soviet Army and Liberation of Melitopol 5 UAH, market price 28.01.2026

On the obverse there are: above - the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the inscriptions thereunder: to the left - НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) and to the right - 5/ ГРИВЕНЬ/2013 (5/ hryvnias/2013); in the centre there is depicted a group of soldiers in the course of an attack; to the right thereof is the mark of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint; below there is the inscription ПРОРИВ РАДЯНСЬКИМИ ВІЙСЬКАМИ / НІМЕЦЬКОЇ ЛІНІЇ ОБОРОНИ / ВОТАН (Breakthrough by Soviet Army / in the German defensive line / Wotan).

On the reverse against the mirror-finished background there is depicted the composition: a star with the inscription 70/років (70/years) and a laurel branch; also there are the circumscription ВИЗВОЛЕННЯ МЕЛІТОПОЛЯ ВІД ФАШИСТСЬКИХ ЗАГАРБНИКІВ (Liberation of Melitopol from the fascist invaders) and the legend 1943 (below).

The coin is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Melitopol Offensive Operation resulting in the breakthrough of the German defensive line Wotan by the Soviet Army, to the event that became the start of defeat of the enemy and liberation of the South-East part of Ukraine together with Crimea from the fascist invaders.
