The obverse of the coin features: small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine (above), inscriptions: UKRAINE (below the coat of arms), denomination of the coin – 5 / HRYVNA (to the right of the coat of arms); in the center - the symbolic wheel of life, which marks the rebirth of nature: the stylized international sign "Radiation threat", wrapped in leaves, around which animals whose populations develop in the 30-kilometer exclusion zone, which has become a kind of breeding reserve, in particular, black storks, Przewalski's horses, lynx, bison, moose, brown bears; in a circle, on a mirror background, the inscriptions: CHORNOBYL RADIATION AND ECOLOGICAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (left), CHORNOBYL RADIATION AND ECOLOGICAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE; logo of the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (top); minting year – 2025 (below).

The commemorative coin "Chernobyl. Renaissance. European moose" is dedicated to the largest representative of the deer family in Ukraine - the European moose (Alces alces), which has become a symbol of the restoration of the natural ecosystems of the Chernobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve. Chornobyl Nature Reserve is the largest nature conservation facility in Ukraine with an area of ​​226,269.5 hectares. It is of key importance for the preservation of natural processes in the zones of radiation exposure and is a refuge for many rare species of plants and animals. The European moose, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine in 2017, personifies the power of nature, which is able to recover even after the most difficult tests. Its presence in the reserve emphasizes the importance of biodiversity conservation and a responsible attitude towards the environment.
