On the coin obverse within the circle of beads there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, above it - 2011 (the coin issue year), on the left Au 999,9 (coin metal and its fineness) and on the right - the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint and the coin weight in fineness - 1,24; between the circle and the coin edge there are the semicircular legends: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) above and 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnias) underneath.
On the coin reverse there is depicted the deer figurine with the semicircular inscription thereunder СКІФСЬКЕ ЗОЛОТО (Scythian Gold).
The commemorative coin is dedicated to a Scythian jewelry artifact, the gold plate depicting a deer (turn of the 7th-6th centuries BC) from a kurhan (burial mound) near the village of Syniavka (Cherkasy Oblast).
