The reverse of the medal on the mirror background depicts the main building of the university, which since 2014 is located in a temporarily occupied territory in Lugansk (built on the author's project of architect OG Molokin) and the inscriptions are placed: 100 years (under the building), Lugansk National University (Upda).

The memorable medal is dedicated to one of the oldest institutions of higher education of Luhansk region, the center of education, science and culture of the Eastern region of Ukraine, which has passed the great and famous path. The seventh year in a row Lugansk Taras Shevchenko National University has been carrying out educational activities in Starobilsk, to which he was forced to move temporary after the occupation of Lugansk.
