The commemorative medal is dedicated to the city, which has taken a huge blow from the first days of a full -scale invasion, found itself surrounded by Russian troops, suffered numerous aviation and rocket attacks, but made such a powerful heroic resistance that the enemies failed to occupy it. Okhtyrka stood and became an insurmountable outpost for further promotion of the enemy army in the Slobozhansky direction into Ukraine. Despite the fierce pressure of the enemy, the destruction of 80% of the city's infrastructure, people without heat, water and electricity found the strength and again to clear the city from the consequences of bombing and bring it closer.
