Obverse: above is the semicircular legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine); in the center, against a smooth background, is the emblem of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, to the left of which is Ukraine’s small coat of arms; under the emblem are the coin’s issue year – 2021 and face value – ДЕСЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (ten hryvnias) (semicircular); to the right of the emblem is the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.

Reverse: against the backdrop of a stylized floral ornament are military insignias: the beret insignia of Ukraine’s Armed Forces (above), the beret insignia of Ukraine’s Airborne Force (to the right); the beret insignia of the Ukrainian Navy (beneath, to the right), the beret insignia of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (beneath, to the left), and the beret insignia of Ukraine’s Air Force (to the left); in the center, against a smooth background, is the legend ЗБРОЙНІ/ СИЛИ/ УКРАЇНИ (Ukraine’s Armed Forces).

This coin celebrates Ukraine’s troops, who, in accordance with the Ukrainian Constitution, are charged with the task of defending Ukraine, protecting its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and inviolability; deterring and fending off armed aggression against Ukraine; protecting the country’s airspace and underwater space in Ukraine’s territorial waters; and combating terrorism.
