Coin «Reshetyli carpet weaving in souvenir packaging» 5 UAH, 2021, nickel silver

The obverse of the coin features: in the center, on the mirrored background of the outline of the landscape, the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine (on the left), the tree of life, a traditional symbol in the ornamentation of Ukrainian woven carpets, towels, Easter eggs, etc.; on the right, the denomination is 5, on the background of stylized carpets the inscriptions: UKRAINE (left), HRYVYNA (right); below - the year of coin minting - 2021; in the center, to the right of the tree of life - the logo of the Banknote and Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.

The reverse of the coins depicts a composition: on the left - a mirror outline of a weaver at work, on the right - a colored fragment of a carpet and the inscription in a semicircle: RESHETYLVSKE KYLIMARSTVO (on a mirror background).

Dedicated to one of the pages of the Ukrainian cultural heritage - works of carpet art of the Poltava region, which are characterized by a special stylization of plant floral motifs in the form of broken branches with flowers and leaves. Reshetylov masters of weaving, carpet making and embroidery have been known throughout Ukraine since the end of the 19th century. In 2017, the traditions of plant carpet-making of Reshetylivka, a real treasury of Ukrainian folk art, were included in the National List of Elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine.
