On the obverse there is the image of miner’s head torch on the left illuminating the conventionalized outlines of industrial enterprises on the right, and there are the legends: against the mirror background above – the semi circumferential legend: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine), underneath there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine, 2 ГРИВНІ (2 hryvnias) 2007 inscription below, as well as the logotype of the National Bank of Ukraine Mint

On the reverse there is the logotype of jubilee celebrations of the 75 anniversary of the foundation of the Donetsk Oblast, there are circumferential legends – ДОНЕЦЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ (Donetsk Oblast ) above, ЗАСНОВАНА У 1932 РОЦІ (Founded in 1932) below.
