The central portrait is of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky. The primary color of the note is dark blue.

Inscriptions and Denomination: "УКРАЇНА" is in the upper center, and "П'ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ" is at the bottom.

The central engraving depicts the Ilyinska Church in the village of Subotiv.

• Details: At the top is a ribbon with the inscription "НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ". In the left part is the facsimile signature (Viktor Yushchenko) and the inscription "ГОЛОВА ПРАВЛІННЯ", with the year "1992" in the right part.
• Numbering: The serial number is printed twice — in the upper left and upper right parts of the reverse.

The 5 Hryvnia note of the 1992 issue (signed by V. Yushchenko) is a banknote of the first series of independent Ukraine. The issue was printed in Canada by the Canadian Bank Note Company.
