A technical glitch at the Ukrainian numismatic auction Violity on December 10, 2023 forced the administration to extend the auction after bid data was incorrectly displayed

On the evening of December 10, 2023, a technical glitch occurred at the major Ukrainian numismatic auction Violity, which led to misunderstandings and unmet expectations among collectors. Some bids were not taken into account, and victories were canceled, forcing the auction administration to decide to extend the auction for another day.

Bidding users experienced issues in the final minutes of an auction when bidding information was incorrectly displayed on item pages. This created confusion and resentment among some collectors who were left stranded by the system failure.

The Violity auction support service apologized and explained the essence of the glitch: “Due to technical reasons, some of the Koristuvachs were incorrectly displaying data about bidding on the sides of lots in the rest of the auction. In connection with this, a decision was made to continue bidding after 19 :30 12/10/2023 "Thank you for being reasonable."

Auction representatives assured participants that all technical problems will be resolved, and the ability to participate in the auction will be restored after making the necessary changes.

"The chats will be available after all corrections. In addition to trading. Everything will be Ukraine!" - Violity representatives concluded the message, urging collectors to remain patient and continue to participate in the auction, awaiting corrections and improvements to the platform.
