The commemorative banknote with a face value of 500 hryvnias of the 2015 model was put into circulation for the 300th anniversary of the birth of Grigory Skovoroda-a unique, extraordinary, bright personality, whose work remains relevant for centuries. Everyone who has read the works of Grigory Savvich sees him not only as a wandering philosopher, writer, historian, but also as a person who inspires many generations to do and act, and his work “appears as an instrument of different ideas and views.” The philosopher believed that the main thing in life is a sense of freedom: “what is freedom? What is the good in it? They say it looks like it's Golden? No, it is not a zloty: having equalized all zloty, it is only a swamp against freedom. Oh, if I could not make a fool of myself, so that I could not remain without freedom” “[verse” De libertate “(”on freedom")]. Today, the whole world sees what Ukrainians are capable of to protect their freedom, for which the Ukrainian people pay a very high price! Commemorative banknote with a face value of 500 hryvnias of the 2015 model of the GS series with the numbers 0000001-0050000 issued in 2022; the size of the banknote is 75 x 154 mm. The main image of the front side is a portrait of Grigory Skovoroda. The main image of the reverse side is the building of the Kyiv – Mohyla Academy.
