A commemorative banknote with a face value of 500 hryvnias of the 2015 model signed by the chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Kirill Shevchenko was put into circulation for the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. The commemorative banknote contains all the elements of protection of the 500 Hryvnia banknote of the 2015 model with an additional application on the front side, in place of the watermark, screen printing in OVMI identity ink – “30 years of independence of Ukraine”; the size of the banknote is 75 x 154 mm. The main image of the front side is a portrait of Grigory Skovoroda. The main image of the reverse side is the building of the Kyiv – Mohyla Academy.
