A collection set of commemorative, circulation, and fractional coins "Coins of Ukraine," dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Ukraine's national currency—the hryvnia. Ukraine proclaimed its aspiration to have its own currency in July 1990.
The set includes all denominations of fractional coins struck in improved quality: 1, 2, and 5 kopecks (stainless steel), 10, 25, and 50 kopecks (aluminum bronze), a 1 hryvnia "Volodymyr the Great" coin (aluminum bronze), and a commemorative 1 hryvnia coin "20 Years of Monetary Reform in Ukraine" (aluminum bronze).
The primary uniqueness of this set lies in the material of the 10, 25, and 50 kopeck coins. Despite the fact that since 2013 these denominations have been minted for mass circulation from steel, the coins in this set are made of aluminum bronze. This makes them special: they have a characteristic golden color and are non-magnetic.
The 2016 25-kopeck coin is of particular value as it was never released for general circulation. Likewise, the bronze versions of the 10 and 50-kopeck coins exist exclusively within this release. All coins are struck in "uncirculated" (UNC) quality, featuring sharp relief details and a brilliant mint luster.
A limited mintage of 10,000 sets makes this a rare item. It is indispensable for collectors because it contains coin types that cannot be found in actual circulation, ensuring a steady increase in its numismatic value.
