Coin 50 kopek 2016

The 50 kopeck coin is a small change coin. Introduced into circulation on September 2, 1996 — together with the introduction of the hryvnia.

This denomination in 2016 is represented by two types of metal:

• Steel: Standard circulation coin with brass coating (magnetic). Minted for regular monetary turnover.
• Aluminum Bronze: Special issue for collectors. The coin is non-magnetic, features an improved UNC surface, and is found only in official NBU annual sets.

The mintage of the bronze version is only 10,000 units, making it a valuable numismatic object, as it represents a temporary "return" to the old alloy within that minting year.
