The commemorative banknote was put into circulation to celebrate the steadfastness, invincibility, heroism and fortitude of the Ukrainian people, which they show in the fight against Russia's armed aggression. On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, announcing a “special military operation”. The actions of the aggressor, who massively and brutally kills the civilian population, inflicts merciless artillery attacks and airstrikes, destroys infrastructure and destroys settlements, cause shock throughout the civilized world! Ukraine defends its independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and right to life! Our victory is the victory of good, justice, democracy; the victory of light over darkness! Commemorative banknote with a face value of 20 hryvnias issued in 2023 with the signature of the chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny of the ZS series with the numbers 0000001-0300000; contains elements of protection of the current nominal series of banknotes and additional optically replaceable protection elements; the size of the banknote is 80 x 165 mm. The main image of the front side of the commemorative banknote: the Ukrainian military sets the national flag of Ukraine (PHOTO “Ukrainian soldiers raise the flag” by Alexander Smirnov) against the background of fragments of the map of Ukraine and flags of countries that support Ukraine. Under the laurel wreath is the inscription: and on the renewed land there will be no enemy та and a polymer tape containing: Chevron of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the emblem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the inscriptions: glory to Ukraine / glory to heroes. The logo of the National Bank of Ukraine is placed on the background of the Blue Ribbon; on the background of yellow – the signature of Andrey Pyshny and the inscription chairman. Digital designation of the face value-20 (bottom left), vertical inscription twenty / Hryvnia (right of the soldiers) and stylized steppe with poppy flowers – a reminder of the fallen defenders of Ukraine (bottom). The main image of the reverse side of the commemorative banknote: a stylized composition that embodies the physical suffering and spiritual experiences of Ukrainians in the occupation – tied hands behind their backs against the background of a canvas, behind which you can guess a figure with a mark from a bullet in the form of a poppy (designed by Sergey Mishakin), along which are stylized wings made of candle flames; at the top, against the background of the outlines of destroyed buildings, is a crown of thorns, a symbol of martyrdom, to the right of which is a protective element, a color composition that combines the image of Viburnum and an anti – tank Hedgehog. Lettering: remember! WE WON'T FORGIVE YOU! Never! (under the crown of thorns), twenty hryvnias (vertical left); serial number of the banknote, which consists of a two – letter series of Zs and a seven-digit number (located twice-along the right and upper edges of the commemorative banknote); at the bottom: digital designation of the face value – 20 (Center), 2023 (right) and a kind of allusion – stylized poppies symbolizing bloody bullet marks.
