On the obverse of the commemorative medal, on the background of a stylized protective grid, there are: small State Emblem of Ukraine (in the Center), inscriptions: Ukraine (upstream), 2021 (bottom) and logo of the banknote-mint of the National Bank of Ukraine (right of the year of coinage).

The reverse of the commemorative medal depicts a stylized hryvnia of Kiev type, the left part of which is matte, the right - mirror with the inscription: monetary reform in Ukraine/25 years; To the left of the hryvnia - elements that symbolize the transformation of financial and monetary systems: chip (above), binary code numbers (bottom); To the right on a mirror background - modern working coins of hryvnia.

The collection set "coins of Ukraine 2021" is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of monetary reform in Ukraine. One of the most important attributes of statehood is its own monetary unit. That is why the date of September 2, 1996, when the monetary unit of Ukraine – the hryvnia – the heir to the state traditions of Kievan Rus and the Ukrainian people's Republic was put into circulation, is written in “golden” letters in national history. Now the National Bank of Ukraine has a modern high-tech banknote and coin production and is ready to provide the state economy with banknotes and coins of the necessary denominations and high quality. The set includes change coins of Ukraine in denominations of 10, 50 kopecks, circulating coins in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10 hryvnias and a commemorative medal dedicated to the 25th anniversary of monetary reform in Ukraine. Coins in denominations of 10, 50 kopecks are made of low – carbon steel with a brass coating, coins in denominations of 1, 2 Hryvnia – from low – carbon steel with a nickel coating, coins in denominations of 5, 10 Hryvnia-from a zinc-based alloy with a nickel coating, a commemorative medal-from nickel silver. On the surface of change and circulating coins, in the process of using them in circulation and storing them in a set, signs of oxidation may appear in the form of darkening of the surface of coins.
