The 1 kopeck coin is a small change coin of the lowest denomination and represents one hundredth of the national currency unit of Ukraine — the hryvnia. Introduced into circulation on September 2, 1996 — together with the introduction of the hryvnia.
After 2012, the coin was mainly minted for collectible annual sets.
The 1 kopeck coin will cease to be a legal tender in Ukraine and will be withdrawn from circulation as of October 1, 2019.
