Obverse: on top of the coat of arms of the USSR with 15 turns of tape underneath the letters "USSR", below the designation of the coin value number "3" and below the word "RUBLE", the bottom edge year of issue "1987".

Reverse: in the center of a group of revolutionary guards - peasant, worker and soldier. Above them is the date "1917". Along the outer rim of the coin in a semicircle the inscription "SEVENTY YEARS of the GREAT OCTOBER SOCIALIST REVOLUTION".

Edge: two pressed the inscription "THREE rubles", pressed in between two five-pointed stars.
