Obverse: on top of the coat of arms of the USSR with 15 turns of tape underneath the letters "USSR", the symbol below if the coin denomination, the number "1" and below the word "RUBLE", the bottom edge year of issue "1987".

Reverse: at centre an image of a fragment of the monument to Kutuzov in Moscow. in the upper part a semicircle the inscription "175 YEARS SINCE the battle of BORODINO" and below the date "1812".

Edge: two pressed the inscription "ONE RUBLE", between them the two pressed square pixels.
